COVID19 Solutions: Quality is the Key! AAF Bags High-Value Project by Assuring Quality through Standards

• One of the Prestigious Government Hospitals of Saudi Arabia

The Government of Saudi Arabia always concentrated on the development of the health facilities. The response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Saudi Arabia was remarkable to control the spread and mitigate its impact.

To provide better IAQ and to reduce the menace of viruses and pathogens for the health & safety of the hospital staff and patients, one of AAF’s prestigious client, decided to add hospital-grade air purifiers to every patient room as a precautionary measure to mitigate the risk of COVID-19. The hospital consultant communicated to its long-term filtration partner, AAF to propose the best solution.

The AAF International Solution

AAF experts reciprocated to the emergency requirement and suggested advanced industrial-grade air purifier, AstroPure 500 for the patient rooms.

AstroPure 500 is a stand-alone complete air purification system to recirculate and clean the air in inpatient room. The unit has 3-stage of filtration with UV-light. It provides ultra-clean air by capturing the airborne particles and odour effectively. The prefilter elongates the life span of a higher efficiency filter. The gas-phase filter effectively removes odors. The UV-light then kills the captured virus and recirculates the clean air through the final filter stage HEPA.
This powerful system delivers 500 CFM operating airflow. Variable speed controls enable the AstroPure 500 to be run at lower speeds wherever less airflow is required.

The Winning Factor: Individually tested HEPA filters The recommended high-efficiency HEPA filters opted for the design was Astrocel II (H14) to remove fine particles, viruses, bacteria, fungus, molds with an efficiency of 99.993% at 0.3μm.

AAF facility has auto-scan tested HEPA and ULPA filters which are compliant with international standard EN 1822. All HEPA and ULPA filters produced by AAF are manufactured, tested and packed in ISO Class 7 (100,000) cleanroom environment. The mini-pleat Astrocel-II filters are auto-scan tested HEPA filters and are ideal for demanding operating conditions in critical applications.

Results

The individually scan-tested HEPA filters which come with individual test report assured the consultant on the efficiency of AAF HEPA filters.

After examining the proposed unit, the consultant demanded to customize the unit in a smaller size because of the space constraint in the patient room. AAF then, engineered the solution by reducing the size by 20% and demonstrated the unit.

Knowing the fact that AAF has developed and introduced most of the filtration solutions and filter designs throughout the industry, the consultant and the hospital decided to award the project to AAF.
